We would like to use a Process Chain Diagram (PCD) model (MT_PRCS_CHN_DGM: ID #18) in our instance of ARIS Cloud Advanced. How are model definitions (i.e., configurations) added to ARIS Cloud?
If this is possible: Is there a library of model definitions for all the models listed in the ARIS Method Help site? Is there a procedure on how to add model definitions?

When using the reports wizard in the Administration application for ARIS Cloud Advanced, we are finding it difficult to determine which model attributes are displayable for each model. Although the attribute can be easily added to the report, many do not display when the report is executed. Is there a good tutorial on using the report wizard in the Administration application? What little report help that I have found is minimal.
Also, is there a reference manual for the report scripting language? If available, a detailed manual or web site that describes the differences between the Report Wizard and Report Scripting would be very helpful. It would also be helpful to know how to edit the standard reports (i.e., Create Process Manual) other than making minor changes to the report scripts (e.g., changing some of the remaining German labels to English).
A detailed reference manual on creating reports would be very helpful.

I have a PCD model and I would like to select and move multiple items downward within the model.
I've tried selecting a few objects across the columns and then dragging the entire selected group of objects downward; however, when doing so, all objects were minimized within the column I was dragging the group of objects.
Is there a way to drag and drop a group of objects w/o losing the objects current size and keeping the objects within their respective column?

We would like to have the ability to add notes to an ARIS Cloud model that functions like a Post-It Note (sticky note). We would like this to function like a object but contain only descriptive information. Our approach is to create a custom symbol and add only description and links attributes. Has anyone tried to do this? We used the freeform text capability but that has significant limitations. Our team feels that creating an object that can be associated with existing objects would provide the functions we need. Unfortunately, the help information on how to add a custom symbol and object type is somewhat cryptic.
Has anyone attempted this before or developed a better way to add comments? We are aware of the comments and discussions capabilities off the portal interface but they are too general. We need to provide very specific annotation to specific objects (symbols) in the models. Basically, we need the ability to create a "Notes" relationship to objects.
If there is a better was to do this, please point us in the right direction. Thanks.
Hi, has anyone tried the BPMN export function on ARIS Cloud?
I'm using the ARIS Cloud trial version and could not seem to make it work. I created a BPMN model and tried to export it using the BPMN export function on the Repository page but the "Validating BPMN export ..." just keeps running for a long time and I'm not getting any error message. Is there another way to export BPMN 2.0 models?

When launched from the admin console, after a while the following message is displayed"
"No resources available, try later"

I am creating some training materials that discuss the various operators (rules). I have no problem describing the OR, AND or XOR rules; however, I could not find any description of the additional rules (see attached):
Can someone provide a description of how these rules are used?
From what I have read, the General Rule (upside down "Y") appears to be used when the rule is complex enough to require a separate model to describe the decision logic.

Hi We have several ARIS 7.2 databases and I would like to migrate them to our ARIS cloud instance.
I have tried backing them up (.adb files) which in importing comes back with and invalid file.
I have tried exporting them as XML but when Importing them I get "You need an extended license to import this file type." error message.
How do I proceed?

Hi All,
I am new to ARIS and work with a limited set of Knowledge given by my colleague. Today my Cloud Controller service(abs_m) has stuck in starting state for a long time. I had re-started the server earlier and had faced this issue with copernicus_m service as well, but after some time copernicus_m has changed to started state while abs_m is still in starting state. I am unable to open ARIS Architect & Designer 9.6 from morning.
Please help me understand what to do if a service is stuck in a particular state?
How do i move abs_m to started state?

Hi I am trying to get ARIS Cloud Administration etc... running on my MacBook Air. When I try to download and run the downloaded app I get the following error message and then the app quits. I am running Java 8u101 and El Captain.
Note the installer leaves a null\ARIS90 directory behind (note the slash is just a charater and needs to be escaped before you can CD in to the directory.

My company uses ARIS Cloud Advanced to model business processes. We are justifying upgrading to ARIS Cloud Enterprise. We would like to use the United Motors Group (UMG) sample database to show our executive management how ARIS can be used to create more strategic business models. Is it possible to get a copy of the UMG model (adb file) and load it into our ARIS Cloud instance?

Is it possible to increase the size of a symbol at the database level in ARIS Cloud Advanced please?
To provide some context, we typically use symbols such as Functions, Events and Process Interfaces in our VACD and EPC (row display) models. And many a time, the amount of text that we write inside these symbols runs into several words. While they are visible for the designer, the viewers are not able to see the full text. For example, "Negotiate with Underwriter on Claim Payout Settlement" shows only as "Negotiate with Underwriter on Claim..." for the viewer.
The viewers seem to have no way to see the full text, unless the size of the symbol is increased (since the font size is already at the minimum 8). It is very time consuming for the designers to increase the size of all symbols (even by selecting multiple inside a model in one go), make them of the same size and then realign the connectors, etc. Hence, I was wondering if there is a way to increase the symbol size through a filter or by some other way, so they become bigger by default. Else, is there a way to reduce the font size below 8?

I am currently working on a team to develop an implementation plan for the Business Process Mapping Project at my company. We have never had a comprehensive model for the company and its processes, and will be needing to work with many employees and supervisors to record the needed information and analyze it for potential improvements. From a technical standpoint and a decision-making standpoint, everything is looking great.
One point that we had not considered was how to ensure people across our organization are willing to embrace this new management mindset. While utilizing BPM makes absolute sense for the business as a whole,we are trying to ensure each department head understands the benefits to their organization, and that we can gain the support to universally implement the mapping project.
For anyone who has gone through the process of utilizing BPM and ARIS to record and improve their processes, could you please tell me some of the benefits your employees have experienced as a result of utilizing ARIS? Do you have any examples of people who resisted the change but came around to see value in using ARIS?
