New archiving capability for collaboration content in ARIS Cloud Advanced 10

Administrators can now save collaboration content, e. g. for archiving or analysis purposes using the Clean up and export function in the Collaboration. The data up to a certain date can be exported and stored in ARIS Document Storage as a ZIP file and can also be deleted to clean up the database.

The export data gets stored in ARIS Document Storage in a dedicated technical folder. To make this data accessible the respective ARIS Document Storage user, who can write into ARIS Document Storage must be defined using the function Configure document user. Then a ZIP file is created that can be downloaded via the Collaboration UI only from a Collaboration administrator. This ZIP file contains the same information as tenant backups and is secured by AE S256 encryption.

This new capability is also available in ARIS Cloud Enterprise 10 and ARIS Connect 10.

ARIS 10 Cloud enterprise Solution and SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Integration

Hi,

I would like to understand if you have an ARIS 10 cloud enterprise solution with the SAP extension and would like to synchronise to SAP Solman 7.2, is the ARIS cloud solution already pre-configured for the synch i.e. with the SAP JCo files and correct ports available etc. or does that have to be requested to be setup when one goes the SAP synch route for the business?

New features in ARIS Cloud Enterprise and ARIS Connect

Here is a list of new features for ARIS Cloud Enterprise (private cloud) and ARIS Connect that have been released with version 10.

  • New business usage statistics – powered by ARIS Aware
    It provides information on what content is most relevant from a consumption perspective (viewing), on collaboration activity, on governance processes, and model content. It uses PIWIK (ext. System) for event persistence and ARIS Aware for dashboards.
     
  • New theming functionality for customer self-service configuration (fonts, colors, headers, buttons)
    Theming is a new functionality to easily change colors and fonts without the need to dive deep into configuration possibilities. This applies also to ARIS Design server and ARIS Process Governance. Examples are basic settings like title, content, highlighting colors, header, side bar, fact sheet, home and button colors, steps view sizes or governance logo.
     
  • Glossary enhancements
    You can now search within an existing list column in the glossary and browse by alphabet in the content indices. Different item types can be summarized to one category displaying results in one consolidated list.
     
  • New object type-based highlighting capability
    The object-type based highlighting helps end users to focus on specific aspects of a model. You can highlight all functions or all functions of a certain type (e.g. process interfaces, automated tasks etc.).
     
  • New profile-based views for different roles or user groups
    Using group profiles for different target groups you can define what users see and what they can do.
     
  • New multimedia publication in the portal
    You can now embed images and videos into the processes and make them available in the Portal.
     
  • Central User Management (UMC) profile information like image or full name can be shown in the fact sheets
     
  • New portal plug-in API to add customer-specific widgets
    Uses a simple JavaScript API which allows third-parties to implement components to be used in portal views.
     
  • New integration of Governance engine and Collaboration engine
    A new API for third-party software integration enables the implementation of several use-cases. An example is the integration with an external collaboration engine.
     
  • New deactivation capability for attachments in collaboration
    If users should not be able to upload attachments through collaboration, then this can be deactivated now.
     
  • Enhanced tenant management
    It is possible to roll-out single assets like filters, templates, reports and databases to other tenants. Furthermore, it is possible to backup & restore tenants, schedule backups, see your license utilization, access user and portal management and to monitor and perform a health check.

How to configure ARIS services to start automatically?

Good Morning, In the ARIS installation, I chose the "manual start of services", and wanted to change this setting. At this point, every time I want to use ARIS, I manually start the services (cloud controler) and this process takes a long time, so I would like to know how I can change this configuration so that services start automatically. Modeling Table excel report

Hi group,

We're working with the Advanced license of ARIS Architect.

We've created some EPCs for different processes and we would like to get a copy of the modeling table in Excel or, at least, a printed copy of this table.

Is there any way to get this table printed from the EPC model edition's view?

ARIS Advance - RACI view

Hi,

I'm having problems in the use of the RACI method, I'm not sure of the connection between organizational unit and activity for the responsibility role A = Accountable

In the EPC model, to display the relationship in the RACI visualization tab as well as in the RACI reports, I read on previous posts of Aris forum to use the connection “is IT responsible for” or “is technically responsible for” but now they don’t work.

I’ve found that to display the role A, the right connection is “Decides on” CT_DECID_ON.

Is the only connection available? Is it change from Aris Cloud 9 to 10?

Database space in ARIS Cloud Advance

Hi,

We are analyzing ARIS cloud advance and had one query regarding available database size in ARIS cloud advance. As per SAG, available limit is 500 MB.

For the starting, it is good to go, but as the work goes on, it may be possible that the database size will exceed this limit. In that case, do we need to upgrade to Enterprise edition or there is some other option also.

Anyone who is using ARIS cloud advance, please share your experiance on this.

Documents version mode

Hi everybody,

I'm a quite new ueser of ARIS Cloud and I'd like to know how the counting of the documental tracks works.

I mean, as you can see in the attachment, I circled in red the 2 variables whose I care. 

I understood that in "Versione corrente 1.5.0" when a new editing occurred in the document the number in the center (5) increases. 

At the same time when I upload a new version of the document the counter of "Versione 2" increases.

I don't understand when the other two counter of "Versione corrente" (1._.0) increase.

Could someone explain how they works?

Aris Cloud Portal Views Customization

Hi Everybody,

We are considering on upgrading from ARIS to ARIS Connect/Cloud, but we've got some issues that we need to clarify before taking this important step.

One of them is: Is there any way to customize the Views in ARIS Connect/Cloud Portal?

In our ARIS implementation, we use "Module Class" and "Module Type" objects to represent the end user level of interaction with IT Systems and, therefore, we've connected them to the Activities ("Function"objects) in our Processes.

When browsing through the IT Sytems views, ARIS Portal expects "Application System Class" objects, that show up on the "Subordinate Domains" group, and "Application System Type" objects that show up on the "Subordinate IT Systems" group.

The same with the processes. We use "Group Lanes" as our swimlanes in BPMN diagrams, but these don't show up when we browse through the activities on step-by-step mode. Only "Organizational Unit Lanes" (as Departments) and "Role Lanes" (as Roles) do.

Are these information blocks static or configurable at the views level?

Database

Hi,

I started yesterday with the ARIS Cloud trial and today after creating a new database I realized that all the existing content in "My First Database (expert)" disappeared, only the diagrams remains as shown in the attached file.

Any idea how to solve it?

New settings for email notifications and templates in ARIS Cloud Advanced 10

Users can now define the frequency for email notifications themselves. To do so, go to the Collaboration and click the number on the top left above your name. Then click Change your notification settings in the Notifications pop-up window. In the Notifications settings you see a list with all notification categories and you can now define by category if you want to receive your notifications never, instantly or by daily, weekly or monthly digest.

Furthermore, administrators can now configure email templates in the Collaboration. The look and feel of emails can be customized to make them more appealing for users. The notification settings like time, weekday and default frequency can also be configured by the administrator.

These new capabilities are also available in ARIS Cloud Enterprise 10 and ARIS Connect 10.

Pilot Project on BPM

Hi,

I'm a consultant for Business Processes and also have experience in ARIS process designing, but I'm keen to know more about ARIS cloud that how it can help transform a project from a manual process to automated ones.

In my current project all the processes are carried out manually whether it is expense management, vendor payment, vendor claims, order fulfillment, discount credit notes etc.

Kindly put your thoughts so that I can get cumulative approaches to proceed with.

Search with attributes in ARIS Connect

I am the admin of an ARIS Connect instance, version 9.8.8. We have a request from end-user to search for object "function" according to the attribute "identifier" in ARIS Connect.

Is there a way to do that? I do not see the object "function" in the item list of the search page nor do I see the attribute "identifier" in the subfilter Properties.

Aris Cloud Advanced & Aris Express

Hello,

I have just got an Aris Cloud Advanced account and have a couple of queries.

1) I have got Aris Express on my computer together with a number of models.  Will Aris Express be affected by Download of Aris Cloud?

2) I will need to migrate the Aris Express models into Aris Cloud and do modelling in Aris Cloud - but it is not clear how to start.  I found an instruction mentioning a launch button but cannot find this.  I have logged onto my Aris Cloud account successfully  but cannot find any options to start modelling, just some youtube videos and my organisation filters out youtube with its firewall.  Are there any text-based step by step instructions?  and where are they?

3) Where do I go from the login screen?

Import adf files from Aris Express into Aris Cloud

Thank you for help with the launch button.  It now works and I am in.

I now need to import all the enterprise architecture models we have so far done in Aris Express.  I have also written some standards for the various model types we need to use.  Can you tell me how to upload these Aris Express .adf files into an Aris Cloud database.  The files are sitting in directories on my PC.

Can you also advise me on how to change the appearance of the default symbol 'stereotypes' in Aris Advanced so that we can use our standards going forward as the defaults are not visually appealing and will need to look like Aris Express so that we can share them with the less technical user community.

Aris Cloud Administration for Changing symbol appearances

Hello,

Can you also advise me on how to change the appearance of the default symbol 'stereotypes' in Aris Advanced ..?

I am unable to locate the ARIS Cloud Administration so cannot find the 'Configuration --> Method --> Symbols'  pathway
 where the list of all symbols and graphics are.  Where is the Administration tab/path??

When is ARIS going to improve the print quality of its export images

Hi!

I thought this issue would have fixed by now. I have to print processes in A3 to avoid embarrassment with clients - no matter what i ready or do, ARIS does not do this well. Is there a change coming.

I am not the only one that experiences this issue.

Administrator access and Jar file problems

Hello,

I am still having problems trying to execute the jar file.  At work I am getting the following messages and the system just hangs as the jar file execution never seems to finish.  When I try to execute the jar file at home I get java options but not sure what to choose.  The attached screen shots show what happens when I execute the downloaded jar file to my pc at work.  All I need to do is be able to change the symbols to use the Aris Express symbol forms.  Is there an easier way to do this as this is taking an undue amount of time.

Also, my uploaded model had disappeared from the cloud repository this morning.  Why would this have happened?
